| Ann Alexander Trechak is owner of Sound Health Designs, LLC, a business which specializes in science based holistic approaches to enhance physical, mental and emotional coherence for optimal health, productivity and well being. Ann holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Texas at Austin and has performed professionally on the French horn for 25 years. She has taught horn extensively, having served on the adjunct faculties of Wichita State University, Friends University, Bethel College and Butler County Community College. In 2006, Ann’s private horn student placed 1st in Horn (3rd in Brass) at the National Music Teachers Association national competition. For the last twelve years, she has also served as Manager of the Wichita Symphony Youth Orchestra program, the largest arts education program in the state of KS. The experiences of performing professionally as well as coaching many others to optimal performance have greatly enriched her unique approach to biofeedback with clients at Sound Health Designs. Ann also holds state certified teaching credentials and was a tenured instrumental music teacher prior to opening Sound Health Designs, LLC. As a public school teacher, she made insightful daily observations of the harmful consequences of the cultural epidemic and common overmedication of children with ADD/ADHD and learning disabilities. Her creative classroom projects have been presented nationally as models of interdisciplinary curriculum design. As a multicultural educator, Ann has also served as the literary editor of the Kansas National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) journal and has also participated on that organization's National Board of Directors. She has served as an Educational Consultant for internationally acclaimed pianist Lorin Hollander and for the Children’s Kindness Network, an educational non- profit. Ann has developed a unique approach to neurofeedback, combining emotional, behavioral and educational modalities. She excels in working with learning challenged children. Ann has completed BCIA didactic training requirements in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback and is a licensed provider of HeartMath and BodyTalk Access. Ann has been mentored by Dr. Patricia Norris, a pioneer in the field of psychoneuroimmunology and biofeedback research with her husband Steven Fahrion and parents Drs. Elmer and Alyce Green. Ann practices under the professional supervision of Dr. Jonathan Walker, MD. and Richard Hatfield (neurofeedback) and Dr. Philip Hughes (biofeedback) and she works in collaboration with Dr. Juan Acosta- Urquidi, neurophysiologist and board certified QEEG Technologist. For recreation, Ann enjoys reading about quantum physics and her greatest delights are her children Gregory, Julia and David. | JUAN ACOSTA-URQUIDI, PhD, QEEGT Dr. Juan Acosta is Director of Research and Development at Sound Health Designs, LLC., assuring that the company's products and services meet the highest standards of the profession of psychophysiology. Dr. Acosta has worked with a variety of clients, including: ADD/ADHD children, adolescents and adults, closed-head injury patients, depression and anxiety disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and over 50 MS, multiple sclerosis patients, while conducting research at the University of Washington Medical Center. He has worked extensively with relaxation and stress management techniques, and has carried out pioneering research with energetic healers and meditation masters, analyzing brainwaves (EEG) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). Dr. Acosta divides his time between Seattle, WA, and Wichita, KS. He has dedicated many years to adventure travel, climbing and diving. He is passionate about photography and has published and exhibited professionally. He celebrated his 50th birthday at Mt. Everest Base Camp and recently conducted field research in the Peruvian Amazon jungle.
